Some companies may be tempted to do nothing with social media, thinking that it offers little benefit and more risk.


This may superficially sensible, especially for smaller companies.

However for larger companies with reputations to protect and manage we believe that at a minimum some activity should be considered, if only to protect the corporate brand name.


Basic Brand Protection


Some companies do not even own their company name on major social media sites.


Worse still, in some cases they have been take by individuals who do not support a particular product or approach of a particular company. What happens if a simple search turns up your company as the top hit yet the content and ownership of the site are unassociated with your company.
